Matka Satta, or simply "Matka," is a form of gambling that originated in India. It was popularized in the 1960s by Ratan Khatri, who started the first organized Start Matka game in Mumbai. The game revolves around betting on the opening and closing rates of cotton transmitted from the New York Cotton Exchange to the Bombay Cotton Exchange. Over time, the game evolved, and now it involves betting on numbers that are randomly drawn from a pot or Matka.
