Boarding Schools on Independence Day: A Unique Experience!
On 15th August 2025, boarding schools all over India turned into busy places full of celebration showing the feelings of freedom and togetherness. It did not matter if it was an old school up in the Himalayas or a modern one down in South India; every place was covered with the national flag that fluttered high while students sang the anthem— making one wonder, where else could you find such unity?
Flag Hoisting and Amazing Cultural Shows
The day started traditionally with flag hoisting; principals, special ex-students, or respected armed forces guests led this. Children were either in neat uniforms or colorful traditional clothes for the event.
Every time they heard the Tricolour rise, they recalled stories their parents had told them about how much Indians suffered so they could be free today— which always made them feel very proud indeed.
Following the formalities, campuses truly came alive. Cultural displays abounded: moving freedom struggle-themed skits, patriotic tunes, and dances representing diverse traditions— all performed exquisitely.

Students went to nearby villages, orphanages, and old-age homes giving out food, clothing, and basics living out seva/service as part of their Independence Day honor.
