Seraphine is a rare and distinctive green stone. Only in Siberia, Russia, can one find the Clinochlore variant known as Seraphine. In an iron mine, there is a soft stone with white "feathers" that resembles silver. It is named for a group of angels known in the Bible as the Seraphim, who sing God's praise and rejoice in all that is righteous and praiseworthy. A specific kind of clinochlore that is a member of the chlorite family is known by the trade name seraphinite. The term "seraphinite" comes from the Greek word "seraphim," which is translated as "three-winged celestial entity." Throughout history, seraphine has been valued and has a long history. The stone appears lovely and has a seductive charm.
