Asheley may not normally enjoy eating burgers, but even she was taken aback when she encountered this amazing treat: it's a $28 burger made up of Pat La Frieda beef (of unknown variety) mixed with some kind of unique spice to create a succulent and umami-rich experience - one which Even she found absolutely irresistible!

Balthazar bakery's airy brioche bun impressed us, but a more standard one would have worked better when holding up to the weight of beef. Furthermore, it came accompanied by both acidic gherkins and dill spears which could cause heartburn if eaten together.

The Black Label Burger at Minetta Tavern is well worth its price and should not be missed if you love burgers! Get lucky enough to make an appointment and don't forget to order this delectable meal - you won't soon forget it.

The Bored Ape

NFTs (non-fungible tokens) and cryptocurrency have made their debut into real life through a Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT-themed restaurant in Long Beach, California called Bored and Hungry. On its opening day alone, this eatery saw lines out the door and down the block!

The original Bored and Hungry Burger features two double smashed patties with American cheese, pickles and BAYC sauce between two toasted buns. It comes with fries and your drink of choice in a monkey-shaped box bearing its NFT logo.

This restaurant, once known for serving Southern fried chicken, now employs people in uniforms bearing references to BAYC. Not only is the food good but its atmosphere captures that of an online community with details like hand-drawn spirits and green slime on glass walls that evoke their aesthetic. Its founders plan to transform it into a permanent establishment.

The Dry Aged Red Hook Tavern Burger

Though I was initially reluctant to try Peter Luger's steakhouse-style cheeseburger, Billy Durney of Hometown Bar-B-Que in Brooklyn quickly converted my negative opinions about this food item. Billy serves up an exquisite seasoned and dry-aged blend of beef which is carefully grilled (with almost constant turning) on a griddle before being presented alongside thick cross sections of white onion slices and fries as side items.

Chef Allison Plumer masterfully interprets New York tavern fare with unassuming ease, offering dishes such as buttermilk salads with bacon, country-ham croquettes with white cheddar, pan-roasted half chicken with mashed potatoes, dry aged strip steak (impressively browned), salt-and-peppered round cottage fries and an eclectic range of wines (though natural wine enthusiasts might want to avoid reds from West Coast wineries). Their long wooden bar makes an excellent spot for groups and dates alike; seating may become difficult later on during evening hours.

The Little Donkey Burger

Little Donkey, an upscale Central Square eatery run by Beard award winners Ken Oringer and Jamie Bissonnette, provides a lesson in breaking free of labels. Instead of adhering to one genre or cuisine, their dishes seem inspired by whatever ingredients were lying around that particular day in the chefs' fridges.

On the menu are dishes such as an innovative tartine of ricotta and Thai-style XO sauce; hearty matzo ball ramen; monkfish biryani; and an elegant beef tartare sandwich loaded with Buffalo pickles, onion soup-inspired mayo, and luxurious foie gras.

Fusion food may seem intimidating at first, especially for those seeking quick bites and drinks with friends. Yet those willing to open themselves up to it and embrace its comfort can find great satisfaction from dining on this eclectic cuisine.
