Doosan starter Kim Yoo-sung, 22, was sent to the second team after failing to overcome his pitching struggles.

The Doosan Bears have removed right-hander Kim Yoo-seong from their first-team roster ahead of the fifth game of the 2024 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League against the KT Wiz at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul on Wednesday.

Kim struggled in his last start against KT on April 10, giving up two runs on two hits and three walks in 1 1/3 innings. He tossed a scoreless first inning, the most difficult for starters, but gave up a 2-0 lead in the top of the second when he walked Jang Jang-woo, singled to right, walked Kim Min-hyuk, walked Hwang Jae-gyun, and then gave up a fielder's choice by Kim Gun-hyung to load the bases against Shin Bon-ki.

Kim Yoo-sung was replaced by Kim Dong-joo with the bases loaded in the top of the second inning with a 2-1 lead, and Kim committed a wild pitch that allowed Hwang Jae-gyun, Kim's successor, to come home. 카지노사이트 Kim Yoo-sung's final score was confirmed as two runs.

Kim's early departure forced Doosan to use up seven bullpen pitchers, including Kim Dong-ju, Lee Young-ha, Lee Byung-heon, Kim Taek-yeon, Choi Ji-kang, Park Chi-guk, and Hong Gun-hee. With ace Raul Alcantara out of the lineup, the bullpen was becoming increasingly stretched, and Kim Yoo-seong was no help on the mound.

The 19th overall pick of Doosan in the second round of the 2023 KBO Draft out of Gimhae Go-Koryo University, Kim has been a favorite to start in the Futures League in his second year. He was called up by manager Lee Seung-yeop on April 23 after pitching six innings of two-run ball against Hanwha on April 5 and seven innings of one-run ball against Lotte on April 11, and earned his first victory with five innings of two-run ball against Hanwha in Daejeon on April 26. However, he was given time to regroup after giving up one run in three innings against LG Electronics on May 3 and two runs in 1⅓ innings against KT on May 10.

In place of Kim, Doosan designated pitcher Lee Kyo-hoon, 24, for assignment. Lee, a left-hander from Seoul High School who was selected by Doosan with the 29th overall pick in the third round of the 2019 Rookie Draft, entered active duty in June 2022 and fulfilled his national defense obligations for a year and a half at an armored search company in Paju, Gyeonggi-do.

Lee was discharged from the military on Dec. 6 last year, and after working hard to build up his body, he was able to return to the first team in about five months. His career record in the first team is 16 games with no wins or losses and an ERA of 10.66.

Meanwhile, the game between Jamsil Doosan and KT was canceled due to rain. The canceled game will be rescheduled as a doubleheader at the same venue on Dec. 12, with Choi Jun-ho (Doosan) and Wes Benjamin (KT) scheduled to start the first game.
